英语 as a Second Language (非母语英语课程) classes are offered to help non–native speakers to communicate in 英语 through the development of skills in listening and observing, 说话, 阅读, 和写作. At the beginning level, emphasis is on improving listening comprehension, vocabulary development, and 英语 structure. The courses advance to notetaking, 作文, oral presentation, and class discussion at the more advanced levels. We have levels 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5A, 81A, and 81B. These classes cost $25 per quarter. We can only serve immigrants and refugees in this program. Individuals with F, M, B, Student, or J visas are not eligible for 基本 & Transitional Studies and should contact 国际 项目 for enrollment options.
Once you complete 非母语英语课程 81B, you are ready for Transitional 非母语英语课程 and other college level courses. Learn more by visiting the Transitions Center, or exploring the 研究领域 for certificate and degree options.

All new students must attend an orientation. Morning and evening orientations for new students will be held before the upcoming quarter. The orientation includes program information, 评估, 目标设定, and registering for core classes. Tuition ($25) is for orientation; the classes you are placed in at the end of orientation are included in this tuition. Orientation must be completed before you can enroll in class.

Transitional 非母语英语课程 (非母语英语课程 98/99)
Transitional 非母语英语课程 is a 10-credit linked class of 非母语英语课程 98 and 非母语英语课程 99 (College Prep 英语 for Non-Natives II). They cannot be taken separately. The class focuses on preparation for college-level 阅读 和写作.
威尼斯人登录网址 can place into 非母语英语课程 98/99 by passing 非母语英语课程 81B (see above) or by choosing this level through 英语 Directed Self Placement (DSP).
Transitional 非母语英语课程 is a college course and costs the standard college 学费率.
